Happy 41st Birthday Floyd Mayweather Jr

Today we’re wishing a very Happy Birthday to Floyd Mayweather. American boxer Pretty Boy Floyd has had an amazing career. He’s now retired from boxing, but is still part of the industry, now working as a boxing promoter. He retired with a particularly spectacular record of 50 undefeated fights in a row. If ever the phrase ‘going out on a high’ were true, this is it!

He’s got many world titles under his belt and is thought to be the best defensive boxer and most accurate puncher in the history of boxing. You certainly don’t want to get into a fight with Floyd Mayweather! Boxing was in his genes from the beginning with his father and two of his uncles also being professional boxers.

Sadly Floyd didn’t have the best start in life. His father was a drug dealer and his mother was a drug addict. He began looking into becoming a professional boxer when his father went to prison and he had to support his mother. Luckily Floyd didn’t end up going down the same path as his parents. He made a better life for himself and his determination has certainly shone through in his accomplishments.
