He’s won countless awards and he’s even been given an MBE! He started singing at the age of four, and learnt to play the guitar while at primary school. His music became popular on YouTube, but it was in 2011 when he appeared on Later… with Jools Holland that he really came to the attention of the mainstream public. He’s also done a spot of acting, appearing in Game of Thrones, Home and Away and Bridget Jones’s Baby. Fabulous Ed Sheeran Facts… Ed has more than 60 tattoos, perhaps he should slow down before he runs out of room for more! He recorded his first EP when he was just 13 years old. Ed must love to play live, in 2009 he played a massive 312 gigs! Phew! He wrote two songs on the second album from One Direction. All of Ed’s guitars have got names. They include Trevor, Cyril and Nigel. His favourite colour is blue. When he was little, he wanted to be a train driver. Originally the song X had some swearing in it. He removed it after a taxi driver asked him to, so it was more suitable for his young daughter. A fan once sent him a cake that was full of hair – ugh! He once considered changing his name to Redward. Ed never answers calls from unknown numbers because he used to get death threat calls! His brother once bought him a Barbie doll for his birthday. I wonder if he’ll get another one for his collection this year? Ed loves Nando’s and they even made a sauce in his honour with a picture of his face on the bottle!
