Their hit single Take Me Out was inspired by a graphic novel by Max Ernst called Une Semaine de Bonte. The band is named after a race horse called Archduke Ferdinand, the horse was named after Archduke Franz Ferdinand who played a part in the start of World War I. Several songs have a religious aspect to them because Alex studied Theology at University. Alex’s surname is actually Huntley but he stopped using it due as it was the same surname as the infamous murderer Ian Huntley.
