HomeMotoring UKTen of the Best 4x4s Jayne Henry December 1, 2016 Motoring UK If you’re in the market for a 4×4 then take a look at some we think are the best of their type. Of course only you know your specific needs, if you work on a farm or you simply have a lot of kids you need to get to and from school, you’ll have different requirements, but there is a 4×4 out there to suit everyone! Land Rover Discovery The Discovery is a very versatile vehicle, as happy being worked hard on the fields as it is on the motorway. It’s a highly practical vehicle but it’s also very comfortable. They’re always popular and it’s not hard to see why. Ford Kuga If a Discovery is a little over your budget, then the Ford Kuga could be an option. It’s fun to drive and looks stunning. Sales of the Kuga have been very good. Opt for the two wheel drive version and you’ll also benefit from great fuel economy. Range Rover Evoke This large 4×4 certainly stands out from the crowd. It’s a practical vehicle that also has that luxury feel. Standard versions come well equipped, buy even the most basic level Evoke and you’ll have lots of extras to play with. Dacia Duster The Dacia Duster is incredibly cheap, you can pick one up new for under £12,000, but that doesn’t mean it’s rubbish! You won’t get any extras, but if you want a great value 4×4, check it out. Hyundai iX35 This medium sized SUV is good value, being much cheaper than other similar vehicles such as the Evoque or the Audi Q5. The styling wasn’t great on the older models, but it’s been redesigned and the latest versions look a lot better. Nissan Juke With unique styling, some will love it and some will hate it, however sales have been very good for the Juke so there must be plenty of people loving it. It’s a compact SUV that will also handle well off-road. Land Rover Discovery Sport This is Land Rover’s new replacement for the Freelander. With 7 seats it’s perfect for large families and is a good alternative to consider if you’re looking at the Audi Q5, BMW X3 or similar. Audi Q3 The Audi Q3 oozes luxury both inside and out. Quality trimmings are nice to have, but it’s the great performance and smooth comfortable ride that put this vehicle ahead of the competition. Lexus RS The Lexus RS is a real head turner. It’s also the most economical on this list when it comes to tax. This hybrid combines the electric motor with a 3.5l V6 petrol engine, although it can be run on electricity alone, so it’s very economical for shorter journeys. BMW X3 The X3 has it all when it comes to performance. It’s economical to run and it’s comfortable and spacious. It’s perhaps not as great looking as some of the other 4x4s on the list, but if you’re looking for a vehicle that you can rely on, this could be a good option.
