It’s always going to be pretty major purchase, and the problem is, everyone gives you a different opinion! Every person you talk to will have had a bad experience with one car or another and that tends to put people off, so one person will tell you to never buy an Audi, while someone else will say they always buy Audis because they’re so reliable. Here are ten cars we think are great if you’re looking to buy a new car this year… Seat Ateca This Seat has the perfect blend of off-roader functionality along with low running costs. It’s available in four or two wheel drive and there’s a good selection of engine sizes available starting with the one litre petrol. Porsche 718 Boxter If you have a decent budget for your new car and you want something a bit special, then the Porsche 718 Boxter pretty much ticks all the boxes. Interestingly you now get a turbo-charged four cylinder engine as opposed to the six cylinder engine of the previous models. This has the benefit of increased power and lower emissions and fuel consumption. It’s definitely a head turner! Volvo V90 The V90 is a new-look Volvo that’s just that bit sexier than older Volvos. If you need a big estate car to cram the kids in with plenty of boot space, but don’t want a car that’s boxy and old-fashioned looking then check out the V90. Mini Convertible The Mini has been incredibly popular since it was relaunched by BMW 15 years ago. The new Mini Convertible has a surprising amount of space for a mini and of course with summer nearly here, a convertible is a great way to get about. If you’re looking for a smaller car that looks good and is fun to drive, this could be a good option. Mercedes-Benz E-class Mercedes-Benz are doing very well at the moment, they seem to have a car to suit everyone! This E-class saloon is not a new concept, the new release is the tenth version and so they’ve ironed out all the wrinkles of previous versions to make a car that is highly functional, good looking and fairly economical to run. Toyota Prius Made popular in the US because a whole host of celebrities bought them, this hybrid is now available in the UK. It’s very economical to run and this fourth generation version looks pretty mean too! With low emissions and low fuel consumption, it’s a good choice for the environmentally friendly driver. All models come with cruise control as standard. Vauxhall Mokka This is an interesting vehicle in that it’s small, so it’s easy to park, but you’re quite high off the ground giving you that elevated view you’d normally get from a larger SUV. It’s the best of both worlds. It’s another fab looking vehicle created by British Designer Mark Adams. BMW M2 A new BMW is always worth taking a look at and their latest offering is no exception. It’s lightweight yet very powerful making it a lot of fun to drive and it’s rear-wheel drive too! This is one exciting car that I’ll certainly be taking for a test drive. Ford Kuga A good mid-sized car with some great tech features. If you’re into the latest gadgets then this one could be for you. There’s an integral touch screen that you can swipe and pinch just like your mobile phone, it will automatically hook up to your Apple or Android phone and there’s also a cool voice recognition feature. Perhaps even more useful is the self-parking feature! Renault Scenic This car just looks gorgeous! Renault have really gone to town on the styling of the new Scenic, yet it’s still surprisingly spacious and configurable. Stunning 20inch wheels come as standard and they add to the looks of this beauty.
