Today sees the country singers 53rd Birthday. Randy has been a successful country singer for the past 2 decades. However it hasn’t always been a success story for the singer. In the early 1980’s his early demo tapes were criticized by many record executives as being “too country”. It wasn’t until 1985 that he secured a deal with Warner Bros. Records. His first single, “On the Other Hand” peaked at #67 on the country charts, his next single, “1982”, became a Top 10 hit single. In 1986, Warner Bros. re-released “On the Other Hand”, which became Travis’ first number one hit.
