Jaguar Land Rover’s new Engine plant has been given the green light to make the new Defender 4 x 4. It will build low-emission engines at the plant in Wolverhampton which means the new Defender, which was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week, is set to be built. It is due in four years using a bespoke JLR four cylinder engine built at the new plant. The new plant will create up to 750 highly skilled engineering and manufacturing posts, along with hundreds more manufacturing jobs in the supply chain.
