HomePersonalised Number PlatesNumber Plates NH 3 & NH 10 Jayne Henry February 26, 2011 Personalised Number Plates JP Humbert Auctioneers, based in Towcester, auction off number plates NH 3 and NH 10, last Thursday night. The lots came from a deceased estate and the money from the sale will go to local and national charities. The owner got them from a scrap yard in the 1950s for £5 each and they are quite an investment, as they were sold for a large undisclosed amount last week. NH1 is used on the Northampton Mayor’s official car and was valued at £250,000 in 2007.A spokesman from Northampton Borough Council said: “It seems to have been with the town council since the 1920s or 1930s. There is currently no intention to put it up for auction in the immediate future.” Former Mayor Brian Markham said it was “a bit of mystery” how the plate was donated to the town, but said: “People certainly recognise it as a symbol of the town and the mayor’s car Do you know the person that bought any of these two plates?
