Road Tax Disc Frequently Asked Questions What if I only have the green section V5C/2NI? – Firstly you will need to phone Coleraine on 0872 402 4000 option 3 then 4, and quote them the last 5 digits of the Document reference number and ask them if the V5C/2NI is the most recent. o If it is the most recent then all you need to do is fill your name and address in the green section and forward it along with V34 (application form for duplicate V5CNI) to Record Amends Section in DVA Coleraine. You should then receive your new V5C within 7 working days o If the V5C/2 is not the most recent, you will need to fill your name and address in the green section, complete a V34 form and return it along with a cheque for £25 made payable to DVA. Once the DVA received your application they will send a letter to the previous keeper, and if they don’t receive a reply before 15 working days they will then issue you a New V5CNI on the 15th working day. We would advise you to do this while we are selling your registration and not wait until it is sold, as it will delay the transfer. Do I need to send the full MOT Certificate? – Yes the DVA will require both the Certificate and the Disc as they will replace the Disc with the new registration number – If you can only supply the Certificate the DVA may only over stamp the MOT certificate with the new replacement Number What will I display on my windscreen if I have to send my Road Tax to you? – We will forward you a windscreen display for you to display until you receive a new Road Tax Disc, as the DVA will need your Original Road Tax Disc to complete your transfer. Do I need to be the registered keeper of the vehicle to sell the number? – NO, we can add your details to the V5CNI during the transfer Do I have to pay for a new registration? – No, your vehicle will be registered free of charge with a new registration of the county of your choice How much is a set of physical number plates for my vehicle? – We can supply a set of number plates for your vehicle for £9.00
